Gaelic Games

In 2018, alongside the Chieftain’s Walk a Gaelic games competition was launched.

In 2018 the games included football for boys under 10 and 12. This involved 8 clubs and 240 young people all from local clubs.

In 2019 the games, again involving local clubs, were extended to include Hurling and Camogie and saw 740 your people participating in the competition.

In 2020 it had been planned to develop the competition further by including girl’s Gaelic football and extending the competition to surrounding counties. However, the Covid 19 health restrictions meant that the games had to be cancelled.

We are planning for the games to proceed in 2021 but will be guided by any Covid pandemic health restrictions.
