Talks/interviews
The Foundation is planning a number of talks and interviews with those who knew and worked with Martin.

Poetry competition
Martin had a deep love of poetry. To coincide with Martin’s anniversary and with World Poetry Day, on 21st March 2021, the Foundation has launched a poetry competition.

The competition will be in two sections, under 18 and 18+, with a top prize of £1,000 being awarded to the winning entries with £500 going to the runners-up.

The theme of the competition is a poem that reflects Martin’s legacy and/or his vision for a New Ireland.

The poem can be in both Gaeilge and/or English.

Submit your poem to: mmpfpoetrycompetition@gmail.com by 12 noon on Friday 5th March 2021.

Bursary scheme
The Foundation is currently developing, in discussion with a number of organisations and businesses, a bursary scheme to assist those studying on a full-time or part-time further education, higher education or vocational training course, or to help individuals into employment.

The scheme will be open to those 18 years of age and over who face significant barriers in fulfilling their full potential.

Further information, with accompanying criteria will be published on the site in the near future.
